What Are Exosomes?
Exosomes are tiny extracellular vesicles (30-150nm) naturally released by cells. They contain proteins, lipids, and RNA that can influence the behavior of recipient cells. When derived from mesenchymal stem cells, exosomes carry the regenerative signaling potential of their parent cells.
Unlike whole-cell therapies, exosomes are cell-free — they contain no nuclear material and cannot replicate. This makes them a fundamentally different category of biologic with unique handling and storage characteristics.
